Congress
House, Senate, bills, votes, sponsors, committees.
A federal transparency platform for Congress, the president, cabinet officials, courts, and senior appointees, built around source records instead of political spin.
House, Senate, bills, votes, sponsors, committees.
Executive actions, statements, administration records.
Senate tie votes, official statements, public records.
Agency leaders, confirmations, official releases.
Opinions, orders, disclosures, official biographies.
High-ranking appointees and federal agency officials.
Modeled around the strongest civic-data pattern: search first, then show the source trail.
Source Policy
Votes, donor records, public statements, summaries, and flags stay separate. The receipt drawer shows what the evidence proves and what it does not prove.
| Source Type | Use | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Congress.gov | Bills, members, legislative actions | Official |
| OpenFEC | Committees, contributions, campaign finance | Official API |
| Official Agency Pages | Appointed officials, releases, biographies | Needs capture |
| Archives | Campaign pages and public promises | Review required |
Find federal representatives from a full street address, then check OpenFEC campaign finance summaries without publishing donor-alignment claims.
Address lookup
Exact district lookup uses the U.S. Census Geocoder. ZIP-only searches can cross district lines.
OpenFEC
Needs OpenFEC API key before live campaign finance lookup can run.
USAspending.gov
Uses the public USAspending.gov award search and saves returned awards with receipt links. Results are spending records only, not proof of political influence.
FEC data is displayed as public filing summaries only. USAspending awards are displayed as agency spending records only. This product should not publish donor-alignment, vote-impact, or influence claims without review.
Direct links to raw public records. These support the receipt trail, but the main Government Receipts search stays the primary product search.
Official source for bills, members, nominations, committee materials, House votes, and Congressional Record entries.
Campaign finance records for committees, PACs, receipts, and spending. Public displays must avoid donor-list misuse.
Open official API docsFederal award, contract, grant, and spending trails. Useful later for agency and appropriations receipts.
Open official siteKeys stay on the backend. Live records are now saved into a local database so the product can move toward durable receipt-backed profiles.
Bill summaries are separated from source records and review status.
Import official roll call votes, then attach member positions so profiles can show recent votes on record.
House | Congress.gov
Runs the scheduler-ready vote job: House roll calls, House member positions, Senate roll call XML, Senate positions, and unlinked-position repair.
Senate | Separate source
Imports official Senate LIS XML vote summaries and senator positions through a separate adapter from House votes.
Database maintenance
Matches stored roll-call positions to saved Congress.gov officials by Bioguide ID. Remaining orphaned positions stay visible for review.
Contradiction flags, donor alignment claims, promise matches, and AI summaries require review before publication.
